Instructor Bio
Sensei Barreto began his martial arts training in the All American System of Karate. Over the years, after becoming the highest ranked black belt in Budo Ikkon Karate, he expanded his skills and knowledge by training in systems with varied philosophies and fighting styles. Sensei Barreto holds advanced black belt certificates in the following styles:

Shorin Ryu Matsumura KarateIn 1993, Sensei Barreto developed the Kara Ju Te Shorin Ryu system of martial arts. This system combines the arts of judo, jujutsu, grappling and karate into a single system.
In October 2006, Grand Master Kenneth Penland passed away leaving his systems to Sensei Barreto. Sensei Barreto continues to teach Kyu Shin Ryu Jujusu – Karate to carry on the legacy of Grand Master Penland.
In addition to his extensive achievements in various forms of martial arts, Sensei Barreto is also a Certified Defensive Tactics Instructor through the State of California and the FBI.
